I am here on this very special night to bring you what I like to call (or what I am going to call) Queen's Awards.

Now what exactly is a Queen's Award?    Well, just like the Academy is honoring the film industry's greatest (or sometimes worst in my humble, honest opinion) movies, actors, cinematographers, art directors, and costume designers, I have chosen a online videos that I have believe deserve an award.  So there you have it... the history (or sentence) explaining Queen's Award.  (Oh and its not to be confused with THE QUEEN'S AWARD.  I know alot of your probably were confused...)  While there were so many wonderful, hilarious, teeth-clenching, tear-jerkers to choose from, these are my picks for this year.

a hard day's work...

This picture pretty much sums up yesterday. I was working on something that I will explain in a few days.  Have you ever worked on something for hours, knowing it could be totally pointless?  That's kind of how I felt, hence the face you see here.   But the small chance of doing something crazy and life changing makes it all worth it.  Did I mention I dream big?  Because I do...

So to see who's reading this, I'll give you one hint as to what this is all about.  Here we go... I spy something green!

going through lots of old pictures. 

Well, not that old, but pictures I haven't seen in awhile.  This is a VERY slow process as our old home computer is locking up about every 20 seconds.  (This makes me very thankful for my computer.  and it also makes me very cautious about how many pics I put on my computer to not make it slow like said old computer=)  This is also taking longer because of my need for the pictures to be correctly labeled/organized in iPhoto.  Yes, I am a nerd.  

I just love looking through these pictures though.  I bought my first digital camera when I was a senior in high school.  And although it was a shotty camera that took blurry pictures, I'm so glad I have those shotty/blurry pictures.  I bought it just a few days before little Ethan was born.  So many memories.  I'll share some of those sometime if you'd like.  

I also want to start taking more pictures and learning more about different angles, lighting... etc.  It is something that will take me time, patience and alot of practice but I think the results will be worth it.  

So for now, I will leave you with one of my favorite pic-chas.... it's actually my desktop background.

I often have really weird dreams.  Dreams that don't make any sense.  Sometimes I remember these dreams in vivid detail after waking up in the middle of the night and then in the morning all I can remember is having a dream.  (I should start writing them down when I wake up).

Well last night was different.  I had a weird, awful dream.  For those of you that know me, you probably know that I can be indecisive.  Well in this dream last night, I dreamed I was getting married.  Suprisingly, that is not the scary part.  The scary part was when we arrived at the church--which was really a football locker room?-- I hadn't seen any of the dresses.  I guess my indecisive-ness got the best of me on this one.  I had bought them off-line without ever seeing any of them until a few minutes before.  So what were the dresses like?  

One word. Bronze.  

Bronze thread to be exact, all over these white dresses.  It was awful and then I found out how much they cost and was even more upset.  

So after thinking about this ridiculous(ly) awful dream, I began to back track.  What made my mind create such a random assortment of events?  

J.Crew.  Right before bed, I was looking at their website and looked at their wedding section, which is absolutely incredible if you've never looked.  I never knew looking at such pretty things would cause such an ugly dream.  

And there you have it... a look into my head at 4:00 a.m.   

(edit: sorry if you were expecting something more than a shallow dream... I've got nothing=)  Check back another day and I hope I won't dissapoint you!)

i miss...

these people are very special to me.  the place where this was taken is very special to me.  on freezing days like today, where i get to talk to one of these special people, i am reminded how lucky i am to have spent two fun, dirty, smelly, hot, sweatty summers at camp.  

and i'm even more jealous when i read about things like this and this.  so thank you cottagegirl and tp, for making average workers like me, become a little, okay, ALOT jealous of you and your office olympics.  I bet you don't have old men calling your "curly locks" at camp, do you? ha... beat that.
